The Last Page

I like to read, many of us do. Currently I'm reading one of the Tolstoy's great works. Now I am in a habit of going to the last page and read the  last piece before beginning to read the book.
I often wonder of the possible reason for this behavior. It projects so many aspects of one's personality. One of the reasons might be the impatience to know what happens at the end. Another reason may be the curiosity to know the fate of the characters involved.
Jumping directly to the last page has several implications as well as consequences. It could kill the curiosity or arouse it further. It could result in complete lack of interest or enhance it.
Talking of last pages, none of us can deny the existence of tell all last pages in our school notebooks. These pages were a testimony to one's attributes. They were always adorned with interesting stuff, ranging from caricatures to phrases, shayaris, motivational quotes, flowers, leaves, modern art, and whatnot.
The facades of one's personality that were not known to anyone could be found on the last page of their notebooks. The puzzles that dominated our minds, the joys that filled our hearts, the happenings that overwhelmed us, the issues that concerned us, the secrets that worried us, the thoughts that we treasured, the emotions that overflowed, the hurts that we sustained, that which we couldn't tell anyone, we shared with those last pages. None of us could forget their utility when they served as the ultimate board games to kill boredom.
There were also people, who tended to keep the last page neat and tidy and even succeeded at it. They were the epitome of self discipline and were rarely found.
Thus, for most of us, the last pages were the most messy, but the closest to our hearts. We confided in them with all the burden in the head and they held the secrets pretty well, under the diversity of stuff that was put onto them.
