You Learn

They say that time is the greatest teacher. They also say that time is the mightiest teacher. It'll teach you what it needs to teach and you will eventually learn the lessons of a lifetime.

You learn to let go and to hold on. You learn to forgive but not forget. You learn the greatest lessons of life through the greatest pains. You learn that people do not always mean what they say. You learn that some of the most painful wounds are given by those who are closest to the heart.

You learn to hide your emotions and wear masks of happy faces. You learn to recognize the true nature of people, but you learn to deal with them too. You learn that the only one you can trust is you, and the only help you have is you. You learn to stand on you own feet, you wobble, you fall, but you finally get up.

You learn the tricks of your trade, you learn to deal with people. You learn to overcome and get over. You learn to give space to people. You learn that all people are broken within, and are looking for an escape. You learn that people always want what they don't have, and ignore what they have. You learn that things sometimes work, and sometimes they do not work. 

You learn from those around you. You learn what to be, and what not to be. You learn the hows and whys and whats of the great drama called life. 

You tend to learn that sometimes it is not how far you go that matters, but just to get going is what's important. You learn that all days may not bring you the best of luck, health or wealth, but you must get through them. You learn that its important to hang on to the fragile thread of hope. You learn that giving up on yourself is the silliest thing to do. You learn that the most precious things in life are often the simplest. And, the flashy and fancy things are often worthless when it comes to bringing happiness. You learn that expensive is not always precious. 

If you pay heed, if you are careful enough, if you are willing, then the greatest secrets will be revealed to you, the greatest lessons will be learned and greatest wisdom will be attained.
